The Australian Stock Dog Spectacular was the dream of a small group of passionate individuals who aspired to showcase the Australian working dog and it’s versatility and promote the breeding, training and welfare of these iconic dogs on an international stage.
The first Australian Stock Dog Spectacular was held in 2017 in Tamworth, NSW in the form of an annual dog sale and trial bringing the this dream to life
Since its inaugural event at the World Class Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (AELEC) in 2017, The Australian Stock Dog Spectacular (ASDS) has grown from strength to strength becoming the largest and most prestigious event of its kind.
This year the ASDS will be welcoming back the Cow Dog Challenge. Last year saw 216 entries into this challenge so 2019 is sure to be another exciting year.
The ASDS 3 Sheep Challenge is being held for the second time after its great success in 2018.The 3 sheep dog trial is open to all dogs
The ASDS Yard Dog Challenge is open to all dogs. Competition is over 3 rounds in the Indoor Arena at AELEC.
The ASDS has a number of incentives across a number of different events during the 2019 Australian Stock Dog Spectacular.
The 2019 ASDS Junior Trial is a new initiative of the Australian Stock Dog Spectacular in direct response to supporter feedback.
The 2019 Australian Stock Dog Spectacular Futurity and Open Sale will be held on Sunday 3rd November.
The ASDS 2 Year Old Series is open to all dogs purchased at 2017 Australian Cow Dog Challenge Futurity Sale at Tamworth.
The Great Australian Round Up event is an initiative of the Australian Bushman's Campdraft and Rodeo Association in celebration and support of Australian Farming and Rural Australia.
